Hi all,

I need an advise from you all. I've been placed on the waitlist for Long Island; I've called the school several times to figure out their selection process off of the waitlist and what my chances are, but each time they told me a different story. I just knew this morning that I'm missing Human Anatomy course as a pre-requisite.

Now should I go ahead and take the course in summer II which starts next week? The people at the admission are kidda rude; they like to tell you what you're missing and then try to ignore all other questions. So I don't really now what I should do???

y'all have any ideas??

Given that Human anatomy is a prerequisite for multiple pharmacy schools, why wouldn't you want to "go ahead and take [Human Anatomy] in Summer II which starts next week", esp. since you may have a shot at going to Pharm school in Long Island? In other words, what do you have to lose except a couple of weeks in the summer, ~$100 for the textbook, and some other $$s for registration fees? Knowledge of the Human Anatomy can only help you wherever you end up going to pharm school.

yeah i'd go ahead and take the class . You might just get lucky and you would kick yourself if they would have let you in but you didn't take the class.

The same thing happened to me last year. Everytime I called them they said everything was fine. When I came back from my trip to Canada (July 2004), I asked what was the status on my application... Guess what they said? You need Human Anatomy!!!

I was going to take it at Rutgers. However my problem was that I had to quit my full-time job at Pfizer in order to attend the six weeks course. Before doing anything, I spoke to them and told them that I found the class and was going to take it and even quit my job!!! But what are my chances of getting in???

Their answer was "we cannot guarantee you anything". You have to take your chances... I decided to not take my chances and take it during the fall and wait another year. I took AP I (fall 2004) and AP II & Economics I (spring 2005).

I applied again and got accepted by Northeastern University and Long Island University. I decided to attend LIU.

If you have nothing to lose, go ahead and take it the class right away. You should even submit proof of registration to them once you register for that class.
