I am accepted to NYU, but waitlisted for UOP.
I have to make a deposit of $1500 for NYU til Feb 15th and second deposit of $1,000 til April 1st which sums up to $2500. My No1 school is UOP and I am not sure if I am going to get acceptance from UOP. They told me that they will let me know around April...... So, my question is... should I play gamble or make a $2500 deposit????? not sure what to do....

Seriously?? You are debating if you should gamble a year or more of your future for $2500.

i say gamble your future and wait for UoP

I concur, make the deposit and rest assured that you will at least be going to dental school in the fall. $2500 is peanuts compared to the $200K+ in tuition and housing anyways.

Dude, make a deposit. With waitlisted you never know, esp with UOP

i GAMBLED A YEAR and got int this year without an interview. If you turned down a school to wait for UOP and let admissions know, that's DEF gonna raise your stock even higher for next year.

The UoP waitlist doesn't get much movement from what I've read so I would definitely put down the deposit. Even if you have a high chance of getting into UoP next year being that you are on the waitlist now, this is not a contractual guarantee.

They usually take like 9-15 people each year out of 50-60 people

To bad the biggest plus for UOP (school being 3 years) is no longer an asset for you.

well that's only one of the pros UOP offers. Hey it's VERY nice to get a year off in life. I am STILL loving it!!! The other biggest plus that UOP is known for is the way they treat their students, they respect them as peers and they listen to what we have to say and take actions. Sure I lost a year but so what? I am still coming out the same time as if I were to attend a 4 yr program. It's worth the wait in my opinion. Turning down another school is the best decision I've made in my life up to this point.

The tuition fee increase alone is worth more than $1500!

Do not risk it. Pay your deposit and wait on UOP.

Make the 1500 deposit first. You can wait until the 2nd deadline before you commit to the full 2500.

It's safe to assume that only an idiot would not send the NYU deposit. Take it from Dwight:
Dwight Schrute: Whenever I'm about to do something, I think, 'would an idiot do that?' And if they would, I do not do that thing.
