Hey everyone I'm a nontraditional student completing pre-reqs and my registration for Fall is this coming week. I've searched online, but I need help picking my second biology class.

Already completed BIO 1 - Intro to Biology, w/ Lab (4 units), but I don't know if this class will work, BIO 2 - Plant Biology w/ Lab (4 Units - A comparative survey of plant, fungal, and protist taxa focusing on the structure, function, classification, evolution, ecology and natural history of these major groups).

I also completed BIO 11 - Human Anatomy w/ lab (4 units); however, from my understanding anatomy won't count as they want more generic bio classes.

My other options include:
BIO 5 - Animal Biology w/ Lab (4 Units)
BIO 15 - Microbiology w/ Lab (5 Units)
BIO 16 - Cellular Biology, NO Lab (4 Units)
BIO 19 - Marine Biology w/ Lab (4 Units)
BIO 93 - Integrated Biology: From DNA to Organisms, NO Lab (4 Units)
BIO 94 - From Organisms to Ecosystems w/ Lab (4 Units)

Or at another local CC:
BIO 180 - Cell and Molecular Biology, w/ Lab (5 Units)

I think the BIO 180 class is probably the best but I wanted to see what everyone else thought, especially in regards to prepping for the MCAT and fulfilling pre-req requirements. Thanks!

Bio 1 & 2 that you've taken will likely meet bio requirements, for the next 180 would probably be good but cell or micro would be fine as well.
I'm sorry I wasn't specific enough in my question, I've only take the BIO 1 - Intro to Bio, I haven't taken BIO 2 - Plant Biology yet, so I wasn't sure if I should take that class or one of the others that I've listed.

Bio 2 - plant biology is the 2nd semestet of general bio. The class is composed of classification, plant biology, comparative anatomy, and ecology.

arghhh I HATED plant bio. Most useless course ever. I think you'll have to take that though since it usually the second semester BIO in a typical yearlong sequence.

Okay, perfect, thanks for the help. It seemed kind of odd that it'd be required, so I wasn't sure if my school happened to switch the sequence, but apparently not!

No problem my man. Depending how you do, you can fluff up your GPA by adding in the animal bio and integrated biology next semester or over summer if possible. Good luck bruh!

Plant bio is almost nothing but memorization of mindless details. So if you think about why that is useful for med school entry it sort of makes sense.

I made a B in it because we had one system for lab and a different one for class. Then the tests had the names of the other system included as possible choices. The lab prof dept head and class dept head had differing views on which tax sys was the best. Ugh
