Hey! I'll try and give you the best advice I can.

Be aware of MSUCOM's OOS tuition, I seriously think it may be the highest out there. Also, they favor MI residents (duh) but that doesn't mean you can't land an acceptance if you really like their program. Personally, it would be removed due to their tuition alone. The rest check out -- if you're ever in the NEED to trim the list, I would start with PNWU and/or UNE.

I would add:
OU-HCOM [they, like MSU to MI residents, prefer Ohio residents -- and it's an awesome program]
LECOM-B [be sure you're okay with PBL, that's the only learning pathway offered]
PCOM
MUCOM

As for your application -- you stand a chance everywhere with a 28 MCAT, your UG GPA is low but your Graduate GPA is flawless. It kind of makes me wonder how many graduate classes you took to earn the Masters, but I would assume there are no shortcuts to obtaining a Masters lol it's just a vastly different performance than in UG (understandably). Aspects I see lacking are volunteer hours and shadowing hours, both 100% necessary <-- just edit your original post if you forgot to include it.

Yeah, I've done some homework on MSUCOM- my boyfriend goes to U of M, so I can't beat the location, but you're right- that OOS tuition is exorbitant.
I had a couple semesters early in UG where I royally f*cked up my GPA, but there was a strong upward trend in my last 3 semesters, so hopefully an admissions committee takes that into account.
I do also have volunteering experience at the local children's hospital.
One more question, though...
Why do you think I need more shadowing experience when I've spent thousands of hours working in the ER? Just curious

By the way--- Nice profile picture

Okay, I can see that. Nothing on earth could make me spend that kind of money though

Grade trend is definitely a priority for them, and I would think your trend in UG plus your awesome graduate performance would make up for it (my opinion). Hopefully an adcom member here will pop on and give their advice.

Good! I think generally ~100 hours would suffice (just an abstract number & also my opinion)

True (I missed this connection somehow), you'd probably be okay as is -- but it is only 1 field. Schools like to see experience shadowing another DO (assuming you aren't working with one) and better yet a DO LOR would be a safe move to make.

Haha thanks, HIMYM is an awesome show.

I would cut UNECOM- regional bias
And OHUCOM is great as weal, as long as you're aware of the 5 yr contract after graduation

Add- if you want

WVSOM
ATS Kirksville

Nice.. Did not know that. I stand corrected, and thank you for teaching me something!
