need help with a simple math q

it's suppose to be a question for elementary kids but I can't solve it...

y = (x+4)/(x-1)

solve x

y = (x+4)/(x-1)

solve x

y(x-1) = x+4
yx - y = x + 4

yx - x = 5 +y

x(y-1) = 5 +y

x = 5+y/y-1


i thnk i just figured it out typing it on the computer so hopefully there's no error there...but that's the drift... ... get all x's to one side..then pull it out

the key said it should be 4 instead of 5 but you got it.

oops. i dunno why my 4 turned into a 5????
