I have a very low GPA 😱 (2.3, same old excuses) and was trying to see what the best action to take.
I am a senior in college and was wondering when to apply to colleges after 3 semesters (Fall, spring, summer) of full time courses. My questions are

1) Is it better to retake the courses I have taken. The courses are mostly pre-req or should I just take higher level courses instead.

2) Is it possible to get that GPA to at least 3.0 after 3 semesters? Will take ~36 credits.

3) Do I need a bachelors degree to apply. I was thinking just re-take the pre-reqs and the rest that I have left along with electives and apply without a degree.

My advisor gave me some options would like to hear others. Thank you.

Try to retake the courses you got Cs in. Take the PCAT and do very very well on it.

A BS will help you but you MUST bring up the GPA.

If your pharmacy school prereqs are low, retake them. The only way to bring up GPA, unfortunatley is to sacrafice blood, sweat and tears. You can do this while you work on a BS. Unless your prereq GPA is between 3.0-4.0, you will have a lot of trouble (I think) with an overall of 2.3.

Remember that a "trend" towards improvement goes a long way too, so making A's for three semesters in a row will not only bring up your GPA but also look better on paper...BUT the goal is to get an Adcom to LOOK at your application... which they probably won't with a 2.3 overall. You gotta bring it up.

3 semesters is nothing. You still have time to raise your gpa. But you've got to be serious. Don't except anything lower than a B+.
