Hey guys, I need help completing this assignment for my pharmacy tech class and the professor is being a jackass and not helping me. Can someone help? The link is the pic and below are the problems. I tried researching and everything but its a tad confusing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/bn96nsa0snba0x0/Screen shot 2014-11-20 at 5.47.05 PM.png?dl=0

1. Fill prescription #1. The glypizide dosage is 5mg. (Use the training tablets). Place tablets in a 30dram vial and label with an accurate prescription label.

a. What did the label look like? Include all information – as if it were being dispensed it to a real patient.

b. What changes would be necessary if the prescription was for 10mg and only 5mg tablets are available? What would the new label look like?

2. Fill prescription #3. Assume the doctor did sign the prescription. Use tap water to reconstitute the medication. Be sure to read the directions on the side of the bottle. (Use the 250mg/5ml antibiotic powder)

a. What did the label look like? Include all information as if it were being dispensed to a real patient.

b. What auxiliary labels would be used for this prescription?

3. Fill prescription #4. There are two medications on this one prescription - which is legal. Use a 4 oz bottle for the albuterol (albuterol is available 2mg/5ml). Remember the each medication must have its own label and prescription number. (Use the training liquid/suspension)

a. How much albuterol was dispensed?

b. What did the label look like for the cream?

c. What did the label look like for the albuterol?

4. Fill prescription #5. Place these capsules in the 16dram vial. (Use the training capsules)

a. What did the label look like for this prescription?

b. What changes would be necessary if the prescription was for 200mg BID x 7 days? Only 100mg capsules are available. What would the new label look like?

5. Fill prescription #6. There are two medications on this prescription. Use tap water to reconstitute the Augmentin. (Use the 400mg/5ml antibiotic powder) Use the remaining 4oz bottle for the Augmentin prescription. Assume the albuterol is for the liquid form - which is available as 2mg/5ml. (Use the training liquid/susp) Use the 8oz bottle for the albuterol.

a. How much Augmentin was dispensed?

b. What did the label look like?

c. How much albuterol was dispensed?

d. What did the label look like?

Did you ever get help? I am doing the same assignment i need help

What are your answers so far? There's no way you need help with all of this. Some of these are way easy.

Yeah... we are not going to do your entire hw for you. At least make an effort to answer questions. Like the above poster said, pretty sure you are smart enough to do at least some of them.

I dont need the rude comment, i was just wondering if the original poster got help. I did all but number 3

Hey, you got me there. I've never seen albuterol as an oral liquid. So maybe the questions is not so simple...dunno, as the original dropbox file is gone. If you still need to do the question, post the entire question and I will help.

This is the one

Sry. It's "prescription #4" that I don't have. (Looks like it was posted above, but isn't there anymore.)

Albuterol does come as an oral liquid. I can't see the original file to be able to help you out further. Sorry.

100 mL
(There are 2 mg in 5 mL, times two doses per day, times 10 days, so 5 * 2*10 = 100)

b. What did the label look like for the cream?

Your sig is right: Apply to rash three times a day as needed
I guess you can figure out what else (drug name, strength, patient, etc.) needs to be on the label

c. What did the label look like for the albuterol?

The sig should say: Give 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) by mouth twice a day for 10 days
If it's for an adult patient: Take 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) by mouth twice a day for 10 days

Did you get the same answer?
