First off I apologize that this might not be in the right section - I'm on my phone and can't figure out where to post this. I am currently doing research with a professor at my school that is very chemistry based and uses a lot of hplc and gc. Originally i planned to go home to Texas and do research with a professor there as well as take an mcat prep course (which I could also do around school). The research in Texas is in a Biochem lab and working more with proteins which seems like it would be more valued research to medical schools. However, now the professor at my school offered for me to stay and work in his lab this summer and get paid. The thing is I really enjoy working with the professor at my school and would like to continue in my senior year (next year) and don't want to let him down. But... I also really want to go home and be with my family and my dogs and horse 🙁. I guess my question is:
How beneficial/detrimental would switching between two different types of research be?
Would working in a Biochem lab for the summer benefit my application at all? As apposed to sticking with one research project?
Thanks!!
