I didn't participate in the osteopathic match, but I have now decided to scramble for an osteopathic internship. Reason being I only got 1 allopathic Transitional Year interview and I certainly can't count on that.

What materials do I need to have in hand? I have my CV and a copy of my board scores. I don't have any LORs since I waived my right to see them. They are available at the Dean's Office however. I assume I will also need a fax machine.

The nrmp requires that you submit your application through ERAS. Your ERAS application is available since you applied to an allopathic program. It would be easy to send any program your completed application through ERAS. Make sure to release your COMLEX 1 score. Some programs are requesting FAXed applications and have their applications online but you will need the same information: COMLEX, personal statement, dean's letter, LOR, transcript, possilbly CV and optional photo. Good luck.

Or just rank Pitt #1. They are categorical, DOs have their own special intern year not at Shadyside but somewhere else in the UPMC where it is AOA compliant.

There are lots of positions for transitional rotating internships throughout the country. What specialty would you like to go into? Many family practice and IM residencies are still available especially if you can travel. These tracked programs do not require an extra osteopathic internship year. Are you a fourth year D.O. student? Do you have a list of programs that are available?
