Hey guys,
Any help would be perfect.. I have a 3.3 science gpa and overall.. I am going to take a year off. I got a 29 S 11V 9,9BP.. I Go to a top 10 public university in California. I do the normal activities like volunteer and shadow. I was wondering what my chances are for Allopathic schools.
THanks guys

With those stats, and knowing nothing else about your application, I'd say your chances of a US allopathic school admission are very low. However, assuming average amounts of research, clinical contact hours, volunteerism, and leadership, I think you have a good chance at an osteopathic school admission.

You could have a chance at US allopathic schools if you complete two more years of post-bac work (assuming you have 120 hours of undergrad), getting a 4.00 GPA for all classes (60 more hours), to give you a total GPA of 3.53. You'd also need to retake the MCAT and get an MCAT score of about 32.

Well Ill be doing a masters next year.... i hope that will help.. my advisor said that i have showed a great improvment in my grades which shows med schools i can handle the material.. i just messed up freshman and sophmore year... any other help would help alot.. thanks guys

A strong performance in your Master's program coupled with a boost of a couple points in your MCAT would probably make you reasonably competitive. Is there any chance you could improve your MCAT?
