Hey All,
I'm in need of some help/advice. I recently decided to foster a 9month old FS Dachshund that was a surrender to our clinic. Other than some minor medical issues that can be resolved she is a great dog. The only problem is that her former owners did not house train her.
I have tried everything I can think of to try and get her to go outside. I can walk her for hours and she has no interest in doing her business outdoors. The minute I get her inside she goes. I have tried puppy pads and she ignores them and will go on the carpet.
I live in a one bedroom apt with a small outdoor balcony and have tried getting her to at least use a puppy pad on the balcony but no luck. Anyone have any advise they can share? Oh and she wont go in her crate/kennel when I bring her to work with me, she waits until she is out of the crate/kennel and goes. I feel if I can at least get her to go outside once and reward her she will get the idea, but its impossible to get her to do anything outside. Thanks in advance.
