I want to apply this round to DO schools and my stats aren't horribly great..
My overall gpa is a 3.3 and sGPA about 3.1 so I wanted to apply June 1st to increase my chances (my extracuriculars are quite strong though) .. unfortunately I am doing an MPH in Ireland right now and my transcript won't be released until Mid August and it has to go through a transcript evaluation so by the time my primaries are actually processed and sent, it won't be until mid to late september! Does anyone have any advice? Is sending in a primary app in September too late? I am a California resident and TUNCOM is my top choice medical school.. Also, any other schools people would recommend with my stats?
Thanks for the advice!!!!

Well, I have about the same stats and situation as you (cGPA 3.35, sGPA 3.31, MPH GPA 3.85 and MCAT 30) and I was accepted at TUNCOM in November. You didn't include your MCAT but if it's 28+, you should have a shot.

Why are your grades not available until Mid-August? Is it because of extra classes? If that's the case, just send in your transcript now and include the other ones in an update letter. If not, it's still not a deal breaker. TUNCOM has one of the latest interview cycles in the country, because of the Jewish holidays at the beginning of the year. I was part of the third interview group and that was in late October.

My advice: Send in everything as soon as possible

My dissertation is due in July and after marking and releasing my actual transcripts, my transcripts wont be released until mid august. I do have my first semester grades at the moment but the problem is, it costs $260 to get the evaluated so if I evaluate those now and have to get my second semester and dissertation evaluated as well, thats ANOTHER $260 so I would rather wait and get them evaluated at once to avoid having to double because I'm in an international school..

I agree with you that $260 is a lot of money but it's a drop in the bucket when compared to all of the other expenses we incur as both applicants then med students. I'd encourage you to have it done twice because TUNCOM is the exception not the rule when it comes to late interviews. Most DO schools (and I'm pretty sure other posters from this board will agree with me) interview incredibly early. I think AZCOM and Nova start interviewing by the end of August, if not earlier. By submitting everything so late, you put yourself at an incredible disadvantage.

I'm not trying to scare you or anything but there's a high chance you could have an unsuccessful application cycle by delaying everything.

My first thought is wait. You can apply with classes listed as "in progress" and have current transcripts sent, but I'm not sure how that works. Someone on this forum must have experience with it. I honestly think you'd be better off waiting a cycle though, unless someone who's done exactly this says differently. I would NOT pin all your hopes on a Touro school...
