What should I do?...
A few years ago I had some serious health problems causing me to have to go to school part time, before that I worked 40+ hours/week and went to school at night. I only have 2 semesters of full time course work. I had one school basically tell me to not bother applying since my part time schooling showed that I wouldn't be able to handle the draining work load of pharmacy school.

I'm not applying to that school, but would it be ok to mention my circumstances in the other school's supp apps where they ask you to mention anything else for the admissions committee to consider? Or would this just sound like excuses?

I'm confused. Are you in school now? Certainly two semesters isn't enough time to finish pre-reqs. If you're in school now, my only advice would be to finish strong and prove you CAN handle the workload. Do not let anyone tell you that you are unable to do it. You are the one calling the shots.

Those circumstances seem like they should be answered in that - is there anything else you would like to explain about yourself/application part of the application. If you were working and only able to take night courses and had dealt with a serious medical problem, the school would hopefully look at your application differently. Maybe you could use it as a positive, even though you faced tough circumstances you still got through the situation and are continuing your education and have perseverance.

Does that school use Pharmcas? The reason I'm asking is because Pharmcas doesn't forward your original transcripts to the schools you apply to. All they do is list all the classes you've taken and the grades you'ved earned. So I'm wondering how the school would even know that you went to school part time? Yes, I think the supplemental applications is a good place to explain your situation.

I applied to one school through pharmcas. My GPA is 3.3. I have a BS, which looked favorable, but I didn't go to school full time EVERY semester. In fact my transcripts are a mess because I went to three different schools, took one spring semester off, dropped biochem 2 times, and dropped physics once. My degree was granted one year after I finished my last class because I hadn't defended my honors thesis yet. But I'm going to be a pharmacist in 2007, so there must be hope for you too. Don't give up.
