Hi. I've spent hours looking at stats, including those listed in the sticky thread, trying to figure out how bad of shape I'm in for this application cycle due to my sGPA. I didn't realize it was as bad as it is until I calculated it today according to the guidelines. It looks like its about 3.25 BCP (a little better including "other sciences"). I am a biochemistry major and got a couple C's in some hard chemistry classes (which did a number on my otherwise mostly A's and a couple B's). My overall GPA was better than 3.5 until I factored in a silly dual enrollment calculus class I took in high school and got a C in. With that in there, my cumulative is just under 3.5 now. (Non-science GPA is 3.9). Hopefully my decent DAT scores will cover for some of the lack in GPA? (21 AA, 21 NS, 22 PAT). The rest of my application I would say is decent. At this point I'm applying to both AZ schools, UoP, Tufts, UoC San Fran, Baylor, OSHU and Denver (8 total). You guys think I'll be okay, or need to add some more schools?

Thanks ahead of time for your advice.

Loma Linda maybe?

Baylor and Denver aren't OOS friendly.

if you aren't a Texas resident or a URM, I wouldn't apply to Baylor

do you know what happens when you press the "Enter" key while typing a paragraph?

i wouldnt apply to baylor, they arent very friendly with Out of state residents.

I'm in the same boat as you! My science GPA is pretty bad due to some dumb mistakes by me. Tell me what other schools you apply to!

I would definitely apply to NYU . I have noticed that they do accept a lot of students who have 21 on DAT and lower GPA. Also, maybe LECOM as well. Good luck. As long as you have a lot of extracurricular activities and such, you should be fine 🙂

Thanks for the advice everybody. I'll add Loma Linda, NYU and Lake Erie on there. Anybody know much about LECOM? I know nothing about them.

This may not be a problem for you, as I've know idea how pious you are, but Loma Linda requires a letter of evaluation from a "spiritual leader" or something of the sort.

Actually, one of my letters is from a spiritual leader, so hopefully it counts. Thanks for the heads up!

what about marquette, temple, creighton, western, pittsburgh, mosdoh?
As others have already mentioned, def add nyu and lecom

Pitt isn't so OOS friendly and even if it is, they like high GPA I think. Same with Marquette.

This all helps a lot. Thanks for your input!
