First option reads take physics in fall, meaning that you think the D in a 2003 physics I course will not matter. Whether someone takes physics in summer or later does not matter as long as it is redone before matriculation

Hi everyone,

I asked this before, but the question was not 'complete'. So here is the situation:

BIO1: C- (2003) (all A's in graduate biology, about 15+ upper level biology courses in undergrad)(Have Specialist in Cell & Molecular Biology)(Completed courses required for Major in Biochemistry)
BIO2: A
CHEM1: B+
CHEM2: A
OCHEM1: B
OCHEM2: C
ENG1: -
ENG2: -
PHYS1: D (2003)
PHYS2: -

Undergrad: oGPA 3.12, sGPA 3.03
Grad MS Biology: msGPA 4.0 (18 credits in 2 semesters)
Total: oGPA 3.26, sGPA 3.18

Not much EC, almost all working experiences in undergrad (can check detail on predents). Currently in a lab doing some research. No DAT yet, but lets assume 21 or 22.

Anyways, so I am wondering what anyone will do in my situation, seeing how i have a D in physics. I am reconsidering a retake during the summer, but I rather wait until fall due to certain circumstances. If it is not too big a deal, I would really prefer to simply retake in fall. I will take english requirements in the fall/spring/summer after this summer has passed.

The physics course would end in July 7, so I imagine the new transcript will be sent to AADSAS about 3-4 weeks, so I would be submitting early August.

Would you:

1) (Early July Submit) Summer for DAT and more shadowing (100 hours increase to 250), tell schools that will retake physics in fall, submit AADSAS in July.

2) (Late July Submit) Take physics in summer while studying for DAT, submit before physics marks are in (July) and send new transcript once finished course directly to dental schools (will probably be much faster than through AADSAS)

3) (Early August Submit) Take physics in summer, study for DAT, wait until marks are up, send transcript to AADSAS, then submit to dental. So this way, I will wait until marks are up to submit AADSAS to dental schools.

4) (August+) I retake both biology and physics, wait till marks are in, then submit transcript or go through AADSAS. Biology course ends August 15.

Thanks! Any opinions would be great! It will help me decide this summer :x

Sounds like you have too much time on your hands. If you are going to "assume" why settle for a measly 21 or 22?

why do you say i have too much time on my hands?

I need an opinion from someone knowledgeable. I am currently considering whether I should stay in the US for the summer to take these courses and do research or to take these courses later on. I'd really like to know whether it matters to send new marks in a transcript or not. Another thing would be whether people think it matters I take physics in fall or summer.

My science GPA in undergrad is so low because I went for a Specialist and a Major program, not a Major and Minor program -_-. It is basically equivalent to Major + Major + Minor. Wish I did not. While working full time.

I always get told that I need to take the DAT first before making these posts. I thought I would just give the people something to take reference. I am sure that I will score at least 21/21, aiming for 22/21 or 23/22. I am studying for it now and am finding everything to be very simple and straightforward. Of course, this really depends on whether I take the whole summer to study for the DAT or not too. For the PAT, i just winged the KBB questions and got 90% of them right on my first lookthrough.

I will certainly try my best~
