So I know this is super annoying because not everyone gets one acceptance...but I have two acceptances and am having trouble deciding what to do. Does anyone have an opinion on either UW-Madison or Medical Univ. of South Carolina? Any insight?

Please help me!

Also, if a school emailed and said they will get back to you in the week with a decision and did not, should I email them and ask????? Or is that rude?

So I can at least offer some help, I do not have insight into neither of those schools, but the common advice given on here is to choose the lease expensive option because it does not matter what tier school you go to, as employers care about that license at the end of the day. If I had the choice, I would have chosen my city's local university for a DPT program, but I need to work, so I went hybrid instead. Now if both schools are priced similarly, choose the one that tugs your heart the hardest, that has traits that matter most to you. For example, do you want a university that has students involved in research? That has pro bono clinics? Do a pros and cons list for both universities. Hope that gets your mind jogging.

I don’t know how much help this will be but to piggyback off of the chat component. Charleston and the surrounding areas have a pretty steep cost of living. I agree with everything stated above regarding a program though. Good luck and congratulations!!

The programs are so similar and have similar features (why I chose them). They both have global trips, they both have electives, they both similar start dates, they both have clinical during the end of three years, they have pro bono clinics and both have a ton of service opportunities.

Thank you for the advice though!

I definitely think make the choice based on program and total cost. If it were me.

I’m not sure if this helps, but I went to undergrad in Charleston and just the cost of living was ridiculous. With roommates, the cheapest rent I had was nearly $900 plus utilities (for a room in a historic house that had been converted to a duplex and was not very well maintained), and it doesn’t get much cheaper living off of the peninsula. Traffic could also be a nightmare, especially if you live downtown because you have to go off of the peninsula to get groceries and stuff like that. You also have to be careful about where you choose to live because of the flooding when it rains! Some areas of downtown are worse than others. I loved living there but it’s just something to keep in mind!
