Do you guys think if i should retake my chem1 and 2 over since i got c's in both? I received C's in chem1&2, orgo 1 and B's in orgo 2 and biochem. I talked to some schools and they said the reason they have rejected me was my chem gpa. My dat for genchem was 22 and orgochm was 20. what you guys think??

what is your science and overall gpa? your dat scores are good and i wouldnt' retake unless your gpa's are sub 3.0.

overall gpa is 3.38 and sci gpa is 3.21. I honestly dont know what else i can do to raise the chem gpa.

Hmm that chem gpa is pretty low man even though you did well on your chem dats. What you get for orgo section? Maybe take some upper level chem courses like analytical chem or medicinal chem.

got a 20 on dat orgo. So dont retake??

I was talking to Brian Hahn from Temple about the same question and he advised me NOT to retake classes for the sake of the higher grade. Apparently admissions people frown upon re-takes unless you got a C- or lower. Rather, take upper level classes to compensate.

I thought the decision to retake chem 1 had to be made before going on to take chem 2...? My undergrad does grade replacement, though, so that might be why we have this rule instated.
