hey everyone- studying for boards here and have a quick question regarding chromosome numbers and products. does the board expect us to know every single chromosome product( which gene the chromosome is on)? or is it just part of the big picture to help you get the correct answer. for example in regards to Nuerofibromatosis type 2 ( bilateral acoustic neurofibromatosis) the tumor suppressor gene NF-2 is missing on chromosome 22 which then cant make the gener product merlin..will the boards ever ask such a direct question ? and i am not talking about the obvious ones.

not that specific. just know it's NF-2 vs. NF-1. I don't think they test chromosome numbers/genetic defects...they may include this data in the question stem.

good luck on your exam. i am so not envious of you. so glad i'm done.
