My test is on Jan 22nd. I've taken three practice exams so far from EK, and got 51%, 53%, and 50% respectively. I'm aiming for a 500 on the real Mcat. Am I on track or should I post pone my test to study more. I don't even know if there are opening spots at later dates. I've been studying since Late September. Thanks for any help

If you are aiming for a 500 you are good to go

But I have one concern that I didn't mention. I've taken the Mcat before after only taking one practice exam (very bad idea), which was a 51% on an EK practice exam. So if I still am getting close to ~52% on the EK exams, shouldn't that lean closer to a 490 on the real Mcat based on my previous attempt, rather than a 500?

EK exams are way harder than the real thing from what I have heard. Some people who score 60-70% end up scoring very high on the actual exam. If you are scoring somewhere in the 50% percent correct, I think you are fine for scoring a 500 on the exam. It also depends on the exam since it is curved, and every exam is different. Your best indicator should be the AAMC material (Scored FL, sample test, qpacks, and section banks). Good luck my friend!

So you're pretty sure that a 50% on EK is pretty close to a 500?

Take one TPR and one NS exam if you can. Each prep company's test has some strengths and some weaknesses. Therefore, it would be better to gauge yourself using multiple sources than just one source. Also, you can take the exam and void it if you feel like you bombed it (NOTE: you are only allowed to take it 7 times).

What I'm going to do is cancel my exam and postpone will April. I can't risk to get another poor score a second time. I need to be certain that I'll hit my target score the next time around. There goes $300 :/

With your target score in mind, there's no need to cancel.

Please don't take this the wrong way as I don't mean to be rude at all... But why are you aiming for a 500 specifically?

You do understand where that sits percentile wise right?

Just curious!

$300? You don't have to cancel and schedule. Just reschedule your test, that's cheaper. It will cost $135 but Jan 8th is deadline

Because I'm a prepodiatry student and I don't need a 30+ or 510+ to get into podiatry school.

There are no more open seats in California for April 1st right now. Jan 8th is the last day to reschedule without any refund. So now I have to cancel and check multiple times a day for someone to cancel their exam before April 1st.

Purchase the AAMC sample test, take it and see where you score. That is a much better use of your money. If you score significantly lower than a 500, then reschedule your test.
