Psycho22

Hey guys, I just got finished up with much of the work I needed to do in order to start applying for PsyD programs but I am having a tough time finding programs that fit what I am looking for. Ideally, I am looking for a program that is well balanced, has relatively small classes and is located in CA,NY, PA, Chicago or Massachusetts. My GPA was a 3.33 and I got my GRE scores back and received a 730 on the quant but only a 500 on the verbal. As of now, I am also taking a graduate course at Columbia and assuming I get an A, that should help my cause quite a bit. I was wondering what programs anybody could suggest me looking into? Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a lot

Pepperdine (SoCal) is no Rutgers, but it seems to be relatively well thought of. They require the psych subject test. Final app deadline is January.

Try Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Current cohort sizes range from 9 to 15. All students are funded (half or full waivers plus a stipend). If you have additional questions, feel free to message me - I am a 4th year in the program.

Seconding IUP as one to definitely look at.

I third IUP. Also, you may want to consider other states because you want to apply to PsyD progrtams housed in Universities. Wright State, Xavier, Marshall, and Indiana State (IN) are alos good choices.

Ah, to be young again and geographically mobile!

thank you guys for the help. What is the benefit for going to a program within a university exactly? As of now, I'm going to look at IUP, MSPP, CW post in long island, Chicago School of Professional Psychology and GW. From what I have read, these seem to be well respected programs across the country and it seems like I have a reasonable shot of getting in. I was also looking at La Salle and Wright institute in California as well
