Hello all! I have finally received my secondary applications and am now struggling with my personal statements. For those of you who have already completed your applications, please share some tips with me as to how I should structure my statements and how specific I should be in describing my experiences - is it better to focus on one experience in an essay or is it ok to talk about all of the ones I feel are relevant?

Please help! Thank you all so much!!!😕

You should check in the school specific section to find more info about the secondaries from the schools you chose. Many of those discussions have Q&A about the secondaries. There is also a secondary application thread here that you might find more answers in.

When you're deciding how to structure your responses, keep the school's length constraints in mind. From there you can determine how many things you want to include while sufficiently fleshing out the details of each.

Be yourself.. that's what they really want to see. It's your personal statement, not ours. If you have lots of experiences, perhaps that is your personal statement.

Thank you both for your input 🙂 After much brainstorming and editing, I have actually managed to write pretty good personal statements so far! I think the most difficult thing is just to start writing 🙂

I agree! The hurdle for me was just getting down a draft so I had something to tear apart. 🙂

Good luck with your applications!
