I have to take organic chem II this summer and runs July 1-31. I have signed up to take the DAT June 29 so that i could study two full months before I take it. I also want to send in my application in the early pool of applicants. Should I wait to take the DAT after my organic chem II class, if so, will that decrease my chances of getting in the early applicant pool? I have taken the dat and didn't do great on it and am going to take the kaplan online course for two months. Thanks

You should not try to rush it. Do as well as you can on it. You have taken in already before taking ochem? I would take ochem first

take ochem first and after that take your time to study it hard. if you can start ochem II on your own then hit the book and take the DAT on june 29th, but if not at least hold on for 2 weeks after the end of your class, then take it.( you will lower the stress) shouldnt rush it.

If you have a strong understanding of the concepts presented in Ochem I then you should be fine as Ochem II is just more reactions without much more theory. However I'll warn you that some of the new reactions might be tricky to learn on your own *cough*aromaticchemistry*cough*
