Need Some Advice Please!

If you left on good terms with your former boss, I don't see why not.

Hey Rose,

To be honest, the best way to make sure you didn't burn the bridge when you left without notice is to make contact with your prior employer and see if he will recommend you favorably if they happen to call him (probably not). If he balks, I guess you could still list it, since it IS your experience and you'll have to account for the empty space somehow anyway, but smoothing things over w/ the boss man is a good idea regardless.

I can't see how him being a preceptor will matter a hill of beans to the AdCom. If nothing else, it might actually HELP your chances. The pharmacist I volunteer under at the hospital graduated from my school of choice, and she suggested that it would be a very good thing.

YMMV, HTH.

Do the schools contact your previous employers? I'm having a hard time thinking that they do given the fact that they have so many applicants and they already have two to four LORs in their possession. That just seems like an awful amount of work.

Now I'm assuming that you didn't get a LOR from the pharmacist? We had an admissions guy giving advice here awhile back and he said that if you do have pharmacy experience but don't get a LOR from the pharmacist that is a red flag. I guess they assume you didn't do a good job if you didn't get a rec from the pharmacist. You should be prepared to explain why you don't have a LOR if that is the case.

Thank you everyone for all the advice
