I'm certainly impressed with all the posted scores on here, though I'm sure those with less good scores are reluctant to post. Here is my dilemna: I got my scores back and didn't do as well as I had hoped. I'm hoping to do a pedo residency after graduating. I know that there are some people who have gotten into decent programs with mid 80s scores. I could take the exam again in December or something, but here are my concerns:
1. There is always a possibility that I could fail the second time around and lose my passing status. I know this is unlikely, but always possible. I could also certainly do worse.
2. I don't know if three weeks of studying in December would really produce any better result. I was a music major in college and just don't have the background that many of you do. True, I could spend more time with old exams (I didn't do enough) and go through the decks again, but I don't see a major jump being likely.
I will likely have very good recommendations and I have an excellent background- former special needs teacher and current class officer and free clinic coordinator. I'll also get involved with research.
If you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance!
