Well my situation right now kind of sucks I think. I just finished up school at a CC got my associates degree. Now I come to find out I was somewhat lied to about being able to transfer much and even if I could I don't really have that many pre-pharmacy req's done even so I am going to have to go to a better school that I can for sure get my pre-reqs done at I have already found one.

Now comes my problem I can try to start this summer but that will be a major pain in the but because until july I work pharmacy tech jobs and if I wait till fall I can go part time which will make it a lot easier. So am I wondering will it really make a big difference like if I start in the summer or fall. The program for pre-reqs I was told would take around 2-2.5 years though so I want to try and finish and be able to get into pharmacy school as soon as possible. I am starting to feel somewhat old at 23 and with another 2 years of pre-reqs and 4 years of pharmacy school I will be like 30 by the time I graduate. I dunno why I am so stressed out I just really want to try and get done as quickly as I can.

Many schools offer accelerated series in the summer, but that may be hard to fit in while working during the summer. You could finish a biology, chemistry, ochem or anatomy/physiology series during the summer but if you are working full time getting good grades in one of those series may be tough.

Well if you want to find out if it makes a difference, sit down and map out your prereq courses over the next couple years. Go talk to a pharmacy advisor, they will help you set up a tentative schedule. You should have everything pretty much mapped up so you know when you will be done and if there is going to be any potential problems with scheduling. I finished my prereqs in 2 years and I took some classes both summers.

The average age in my class is 25 or 26 so you will most likely be around the average age in your future pharmacy class.

I don't think it will make THAT much of a difference whether you start in the summer or the fall. You will probably get 2-3 more classes finished earlier if you start in the summer and that's great. But it's not so much of a difference where you need to be freaking out. And there are plenty of people starting pharmacy school that are in their mid-20s including myself so you are not THAT old. Maybe you should have planned your classes better at your CC so perhaps you could have taken some of the pharmacy pre-reqs there. Also, most of the people who are applying to pharmacy school have a bachelors or will have one when they start, so if you are just taking prereq courses, I would suggest going for a BS/BA as well.
