This semester I am taking 2 classes: Organic chemistry and and upper level science elective. I am also taking a Kaplan review course for a scheduled April MCAT date.

My background is the same old story - horrible grades for the first few years of school, got it together and now have a BSN. I have been post-bacc for 4 semesters and have a 4.0 for 35 hours of coursework.

My question is this: Should I keep the 2 classes I have or drop the science elective and focus more time on the MCAT. I am thinking that a good MCAT score will look better than an A in a science elective. But, I'm worried about only taking one course this semester as looking like I'm slacking. (I have a lot of other stuff I'm doing this semester)

Thoughts?

MCAT >>> importance than one more science class.
Definitely take 1 or no science classes, and study for the MCAT.

Another option would be to keep both classes and push back the MCAT date. I took it in early July which gave me 2 months to prep after the spring semester. This is still plenty early if you fill out your application stuff as you are waiting for the score. Don't wait for it to come back.

If you stay with the April date, drop the other class.
