Hi all

Guess i just need some encouragement. I am using a elective month to concurrently study for my CK which is in 2 weeks from now. I started out low in the low 40s but have seen my uworld score go up to somewhere in the 50,60s and max in low 70s.

But since yesterday, i have done about 4 sets of 23 questions and for whatever scary reason, been scoring 40s and the last one i did was a 39! that's scary.

I am using secrets and almost done with my first read.taking notes as i go and will do one memorizing run through my notebook/ do questions till the exa,

So just wanted some encouragement/ words of wisdom

Thanks in advance........sometimes i hate this journey

You are ok. Especially when doing sets of questions in small amounts like 23 at a time, you are going to have high variability. So really this bad run of questions you have had is 92 q's and that's all. It definitely happens, and when it happened to me it would ruin my day sometimes because I would think I had already peaked in my knowledge and was starting to decline. But in the end, all you can do is keep learning from every missed question and have confidence that you are getting better every day. On the one hand, it sucks to miss a lot of q's, but on the other hand, the more you miss, the more you are learning! Hang in there.

I agree. Don't worry about it. I had a day where I couldn't get within 10 points of my usual average on UWorld- I took it as a sign to take a day off and just quit thinking about it. When I got back into the swing of things, my scores came back and so did my confidence.

Good Luck

just keep plowing through, the key is learning from the questions. i know that everyone on sdn talks about how important uworld is and how scores correlate with your real step 2. the most important thing is to learn from your mistakes. uw will humble pretty much any medical student at some point in their using it. i felt the same way u did last week (i take my exam in 1 week). u just gotta keep on working hard and dont get discouraged.

Thanks guys

I definitely agree with you. It's all about the attitute. Retired to bed earlier than usual and that seemed to help.... questions, questions and more questions.

Thanks guys and good luck to everyone

just think of it this way.

u getting a 40% is a simple way for you to know the things you need to work on. learn that 60% very well, and u'll never miss such a question again! think of it this way, you're missing the question right now so u don't miss it on the real test...
