Hi,

I have recently found this forum and have learned so much from it. Some great info here that I have passed onto friends that are also interested in graduate school.

I'm currently a senior getting ready to graduate in the spring and am excited for continuing my education. I'm looking at Experimental and Clinical programs but don't know whether I be applying to PhD programs or Masters programs. I would ultimately like to earn a PhD and go into academia. I love the research part of psychology and am interested in Health Promotion specifically.

A little about me... I'm a Psychology major with minors in Philosophy and History, currently I have a 3.4 cum GPA and a 3.7 in Psychology. I will also be graduating from the Honors Program at my school. I started off at a Community College after high school and transferred into my current institution. I have a year of experience as a Research Assistant, am almost completed with one project and have started another for my senior honors project. I have also worked full time (some semesters up to 60 hours a week) in my five year college career. I have also spent the last year working at a Behavioral Agency. I will be taking the GRE's in a few weeks.

I'm looking for advice on whether or not to apply to Masters or PhD programs. Also which program should I be looking at for wanting to do research, Clinical or Experimental? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
