Hey! So I have two really quick questions

I just reapplied yesterday for medical schools and I already got a secondary from GWU. I took my MCATs on july 6th but I already submitted my primary application without my MCAT scores. My questions are

1) Should I wait to submit my secondaries until after I receive my MCAT scores or should I submit my secondaries as soon as I get them?

2) I am 99% the only reason why I didn't get accepted last year was because of my MCATs (11P, 6V, 11BS) the verbal killed me. When I retook the MCAT on July 16th, I felt MUCH better. Anyway, my question is should I write completely different essays for the essays on the secondary applications? I mean things like "What is your greatest achievement" and "Why do you want to enter our medical school" aren't really things that I felt have really changed over the last year.

Any and all suggestions are much appreciated!
Thank you so much!

Did you indicate on your primary that you were retaking the MCAT? If you didn't, I would wait to submit the secondary so that you don't get automatically get screened out with the VR 6. If you did check the retake box on the primary, the schools will most likely wait for your new ones before reviewing your app, so you can submit your secondary whenever you want.

I would rewrite your secondary essays to all questions. I think it would look kind've lazy not to. It doesn't really matter if the content doesn't change much, but maybe add some things about what you learned over the last year that contributed to you applying to their school again/for the first time. Good luck!

1. i would not submit your secondaries until after you have the new mcat score. however, i would work on them and have them ready to go as soon as you get your new and improved mcat score.

2. if you applied last year and are submitting a secondary again then please change your essays. while the fundamental reasons may have stayed the same, there has to be some experience during the last year that you could add or improve your essay. i would not submit the same essays imho.

I would add that you shouldn't even look at your past essays. I know it is annoying to be a re-applicant, but you want to give yourself the best possible chances at acceptance!
