Sorry if there is a rule for not having similar post in different threads, but I am in a situation that I really need some feedback/toughlove.

Right now, I have a cGPA of only 2.78 an sGPA of 2.8 according to ACMACS and a 2.96 cGPA according to AAMCOMS. No Mcat taken. Obviously, both are too low for anything, and I was expecting to retake classes at this point because with the way things are going, 3.0 (this is with As) via ACMACS (cGPA and sGPA) is the highest I can get due to harsh diminishing returns of a large time in school and this being my super senior semester coming up (not the fall, the spring). If I am correct, my best route at this point would be DO using the method of retaking classes, right? (edited: bad calculation of sGPA for AAMCOMS :bag:)

Thank you. I will start grade replacement as soon as I can.

I am assuming these are merely jokes (maybe for my own good), or is it realistic with a good MCAT + aced SMP?

Some schools are willing to take a chance on a low gpa applicant who has really turned it around.

Based upon posts here on SDN and PMs I've received, people have gotten into MD schools including Case, BU, Duke, and Tulane, among others.

The hallmark is that their postbac GPA is >3.6 and MCAT is >33. Having large numbers of clinical hours >500 also helps.
