DMU hands down. Even though I didn't go to KCOM, DMU is such a great school. If it wasn't for being waistlisted i'd say I would be there next year. But you have to go there. Just look at the DMU forum. There's tons of responses for that school alone. Good luck.

Why are you torn? Can you not go to both because of financial reasons? If at ALL possible ( I mean really, sell some books, blood, or car parts, lol) I would go to all schools that you get an interview to that you have even an inclining of desire to check out. My list of schools AND their ranking order has changing TREMENDOUSLY throughout this process. Some schools that I thought were a no-brainer pick for me got completely erased from the list and others that I thought would have a snowballs chance in...well anyway, they're now on TOP of the list. This is all from campus visits. You really do get a better picture of a school when you go there than you EVER could through websites or even talking to students/faculty. I know money is an issue in the EXTREMELY expensive process, but I would try to go if I were you.

I can afford to visit both, (besides the fact I really have no clue on how to get to kirksville). It is just they both seem like really good programs that are established and have good placement (I want to do EM). But I do have my own pros and cons. I was just want some input from peeps who have been there. Also info on the community life would be good.

I assume you live in Vegas? I would definitely check out TUCOM; I loved my interview experience there, and am seriously considering accepting their acceptance offer! An amazing group of students and faculty, for sure. Tons of opportunities for great clinicals in Nevada.

If I have to go to TUCOM i will , but ive lived in las vegas for too long and need to get out, but i do think TUCOM will become a great program, they already have opened the only derm residency in NV and its only DO.

I just hope people don't underestimate TU-NV. I kinda figured it would be a backup school should I get in, pretty much due to the fact that it's only 3 years old, but my interview left me very impressed with the school and very convinced that it is an up-and-coming medical school.

Don't know much about KCOM, but I do know that DMU is sweeeeeet!
