  1. Pharmacist
This question is slightly different from what has already been posted, but I'd like to know if anyone has successfully negotiated FULL loan repayment for contracted employment? I was talking to a fellow Pharm students and we all seem to agree that if the going rate for Pharmacists is $120K annually when we graduate, accepting $95/$100K annually for say a 5yr commitment to have the $120K debt paid is something we'd be willing to do to not have to worry about loan repayment. How likely is an employer to agree to this? Has anyone been successful in this area? 😕

The possibility of most employers agreeing to pay back your debts is 0. I just dont think the demand for pharmacists is that bad.

The only exception that I know is the military. Uncle Sam is more than happy to pay more than 100k + if you sign up as a health officer.

Thanks for the info. Been in the military.. thought about going back. Still haven't ruled it out but I have visions of conquering the retail world right now.

On that note, you may want to look into Indian Health Services....

I'm sorry for my ignorance forgive me.....but do you have to be of Indian nationality to get the Indian Health Service scholarship, that was the conclusion I came to when I visited their website 🙄

Someone I knew went on to be a hospital pharmacist in the VA hospital system. They paid quite a bit of her loans off. I don't know the specifics but she said they paid off almost all of her loans.
