I'm an intern hoping to do neonatology in the future.
Can anyone recommend a good source for neonatal ventiator management...I want to learn more but I will probably need to start with the "basics."

You will learn the basics at the bedside, although if you really want a reference, you can go to Up-to-Date and look up the articles there on neonatal ventilation.

But, my real recommendation is that you go to pubmed and look up any of a series of articles written recently by M. Keszler at Georgetown on volume guarantee ventilation and also look up a few recent reviews on oscillators. Textbooks are a bit behind on this (which is why in general Up-to-Date is better for this sort of thing), but volume guarantee is important to learn - it isn't a "basic", but you'll learn a lot from reading one or two of these articles by Keszler and then discussing them with one of the neos at your institution.

(no I'm not Marty Keszler or his agent, although our paths have crossed in various ways over the years...)
