How hard is to land a position as an attending nephrologist in Canada after finishing fellowship in USA.
Found this piece from UAlberta,is that real?? Many academic institutions tend to be a little bit away from reality (at least here in US)
Any Canadian nephrologist or fellow to answer on it??
Nephrology Residency Program Job Opportunities
According to a recent manpower study undertaken by the Canadian Society of Nephrology, almost every university in Canada has positions to which they are recruiting. In addition, many medium sized communities are also in need of general nephrologists or internists with an interest in nephrology. Thus, nephrology is one of the few subspecialties in internal medicine which is relatively undersupplied. Career counseling is offered as part of the nephrology training program at the University of Alberta, with residents being made aware of all available nephrology positions in Canada.
Thank you
