Any advice on how to go about finding patients with perfect lesions and perio?

You're still predental so why are you looking for the perfect patient?

Perhaps he never updated it?

We are holding free screenings (bitewings, max ant PAs) for anyone in the community. We have a faculty member who is a NERB examiner with us to verify all suspected lesions.

We also keep an eye out for lesions on our patients as well as perio.

If you are no longer in dental school I'm not sure exactly what to do. Maybe try contacting the dental school you graduated from and seeing if they can help you out.

If your school offers free exams/radiographs, I'd suggest posting an ad on craigslist. Then ask some basic questions like when was the last dental visit, do they think they have cavities, oral hygiene etc. I had a TON of screenings and managed to find a bunch of boards patients for people with that...

Young people make good interproximal lesions. Older people with no dental visits more then 5 years are usually pretty good for perio.

Good luck!

thanks beannaithe, craiglist sounds like a good idea, yes my school is offering free screenings thankfully...i was actually thinking about sending a mass facebook message too lol..time for a cavity hunt!

Finding the perfect lesion is harder than one would think. Definitely start early and do NOT waste time. I found my operative lesions a week before and my perio patient the evening before the exam. These were not ideal patients either.
