I am currently applying to DO as well as MD schools but after taking the MCAT again and receiving the same score as the first time I am worried about applying again. I improved 2 points in VR but went down 2 points in PS so it evens out to the same thing. (24 total)
I am taking the MCAT again in August but I am sending out the AACOMAS application this week. I can't send out the AAMCAS application until I receive my August score. I have never applied to DO schools but I did apply to MD schools back in 2001 (1 interview/waitlisted-Mt Sinai). Since I did not get in I took a year off to beef up my application but after receiving my score ,I am afraid I am going to have the same luck as I did 2001. I know number wise I am more competitive for DO school (gpa 3.55, science 3.1) but is it going to refect negatively that I recieved the same exact score on the MCAT both times? 😕

any input? advice? suggestions?

It won't look too bad.

Schools do like to see improvement in the MCAT.

Now, if the 3rd time you get the same score, then that won't be too cool.

I wouldn't take it more than twice myself, anyway.

You may be OK with what you have depending on which schools you apply to and what else you have on your application.

I know people with your numbers who got in places. But they also had a decent amount of other things working in their favor:

- good LOR
- research
- medical experience

Thanks for the advice JP.

I am definetly giving the MCAT another try. I have good LORs and volounteeer experience so that should help me out.

I am just a little stressed on how to improve my PS science score???😱
