i'm taking the OAT on wednesday and i'm super nervous. i'm sort of cramming in everything in this last week. i did take the kaplan course although i probably didn't take full advantage of it. and it's been about a year since i've graduated. just here to see if anybody has taken the oat recently and wondering how you felt about the test, was there anything about it that you didn't expect or was reviewing it whether it be through self-study, kaplan, prep-books enough? i know no one taking this test so some words of wisdom would be great 🙂

hi there, i took the exam back in octover (last writen version). trust me when i say i felt horrible coming out of the exam (expecially on organic chem and physics sections). unlike you will have to, i had to wait over a month for my scores (imagine my nervousness). i did just fine. if you studied and prepared properly, you will be fine as well. i chose to self-study because i feel it is the method best for me. this doesn't work for everyone. i wish you luck. keep us updated. 🙂

I took the OAT last October (the computerized version) and I was very nervous when getting the score at the end of the exam. I would suggest you to be prepared for the Math section because I did not have enough time to finish the whole section (it has a lot of word problems that take time to digest)...and just relax while you are taking the test! =) I am sure if you prepare well, you will get a very good score. Good luck!

any other tips from computerized test takers?

good luck, tomorrow ! I think I'd be much happier getting my score at the end of the exam.. I had to wait almost two months.

But, the waiting was good practice for when you sit for boards. That wait is excruciating!

The only computerized testing I did was with the Florida Board. That was the longest 90 seconds of MY LIFE ! (while it graded my 5 hour long pharm and diagnostic written exam)

PS --- You'll ALWAYS come out thinking you failed. Remember this for national boards once you're there, y'all. I thought I trashed that exam and then did very very well. (same for the OAT)

 I was having the same thought while I was waiting for my OAT score to pop out on the computer screen! So I guess, if you anticipate the worst, the outcome usually comes out surprisingly good!
