I will be starting in the NeuroICU in July for intern year. Any tips, reading, must knows, I should be aware of.

It is anesthesia run with a, from what I've heard, couple of great teachers.

😀

I'm excited and anxious in the same breath.

The NeuroICU is one of my favorite ICUs to be in. Sounds like yours is run much like ours at Vandy - by the Dept. of Anesthesiology.

I would recommend a general ICU book to become familiar with the underlying principles of critical care. Personally, I think The ICU Book by Marino is the best.

I have attached some general articles about common issues in the NeuroICU which are good primers. Enjoy.

Thanks for the primers! The ICU book is in the mail!
