how do neuro residents moonlight? please provide any known internal moonlighting examples open to neuro residents or exclusive to them at your training places?

i know anybody with permission can do disability physicals or doc in the box work in town.

thanks

Internally, we have a weekend rounds neuroICU moolighting spot at one of our hospitals, as well as a nightly jeopardy moonlighting spot that may or may not get called, depending on how many admits the junior gets (but you get $100 just for signing up). Both are open to PGY3 and PGY4 residents. It pays pretty good, but not as much as you would make with an external moonlighting gig.

Externally, many of our residents get full licenses and moonlight on the general medical or cardiology night admitting teams, or as the sole neurologist at community hospital EDs in the area. You make more money doing this, but things are also more liable to get scary during your shift.
