Would somebody please explain to me what neuro-endocrinology is. I would also like to know about the scope of practice,opportunities in research, and future outlook.

Nero is just what it says. Many problems faced by endocrinology are very close to nero. My exper. has been more with cardiovascular endocrinology, but it is just a off shoot of the subspecialty endo.
Some people do a fellowship in cardio or a fellowship in endo. For example I also have a PhD that is cardiovascular, Nero and diabetes focused. I will do a fellowship in Endo, and will continue to focus on diabetes and cardio. Some people just have their "thing" with IM.
I like cardio and endo, but would not want to do a pure fellowship in cardio because I want to have a family life.
