What exactly would a neuropathologist do? surgery, research, ...

Neuropathology is a subspecialty that focuses on the pathology of nervous system disorders, ranging from dementias to neuromuscular disorders. A neuropathologist may analyze biopsy or autopsy specimens (anatomic, histologic) or conduct laboratory tests to help make clinical diagnoses. In addition, many neuropathologists engage in research (basic or clinical). It is a great specialty for individuals interested in nervous system disorders who would like ample time to run a research laboratory.

A good neuropath site: http://www.neuropat.dote.hu/

Also, do an internet search and read about some of the various neuropath training programs to get an idea of the training pathway.

Hope this helps.
