Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum. I apologize if there are already threads like this but I have been trying to find some in the hopes of specific answers and havent had any luck.

I have questions about neuropsychiatry, I am very intrested in this field as my future career. While I am still in my years of associates/2nd year out of highschool and first year of knowing what field I really want to be in, (feel very small on this site, everyone is so achieved if you will). I would like to have a basic layout of what to expect and what I should be doing along each step of my learing path to get the best results possible. So why not ask the experts and the achieved from the beginning!? I am also aware that this is a very long and tough path!!!

I am looking for info on neuropsychiatry/neuropsychiatrists:
1) What is the educational path like? From very beginning to the finish? including residencies, internships, etc.
2) What does the workday consist of for a neuropsychiatrist?
3) How competitive is this field (havent been able to find much on this forum about it directly)?
4) What is the salary average? Also salary range?

Thank you all so much!!

Also, has anyone heard of a psychoanalyst neuropsychiatrist??
out of straight curiosity! What does that person do?!

If it's actually neuropsychiatry that you're interested in, you'd likely be better off asking this question in either the psychiatry or general medical school forums, as that's a physician specialization.

If you're instead interested in neuropsychology, then you could be in the right place.

Are there psychiatristry forums on SDN ? I've only been able to find primarily psychology/psychologist sections.
