Neuropsychology

I know neuroscience is counted towards BCP, but would neuropsychology count towards that if it were offered by the psychology department?

I wouldn't think so. Generally BCP goes off the class labels so anything within just those departments.

OP what department is it offered from?

A while ago I took a neuro class called neuro anatomy. This was offered by the Phych department however it will be listed under neuro as a neuro science major class. For this reason I plan to list it under B of the BCP.

You may have a simular situation. Call AADSAS to be clear.

I signed up for a class in undergrad titled "Neurobiology". I was shocked and dismayed when the class turned out to be instead Neuroethology. I stick it out but man was it the most painstakingly miserable class ever. Obviously, I'm not a fan of zoology.

Thanks everyone! I called and they said it does count towards BCP. I should've just called in the first place, it took two seconds. Sorry for wasting everyone's time lol

I'm surprised to hear they put it under BCP. I took a class called Intro to Physiological Psychology, which was completely science based. I put it under BCP when I entered my courses, but AADSAS changed it. They said that since it was under the psychology department, it was considered non science.

I've emailed them and called AADSAS to check on a few courses before; With one particular course they gave me conflicting information. One person said it counted towards biology while the other one said it would not. This leads me to believe that it is highly dependent on who is looking over your transcript on the day your GPA is being calculated.

I think maybe because on the website under biology it has a section for neuro science, so since this is neuropsychology maybe they give it an exception since it is a neuro science? I don't know, the person I called was very brief with me so maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Well unless you're calculating GPA's on your own and this class makes a huge difference, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can put it as either on AADSAS and when they verify your transcript, they'll change it accordingly.
