Is this a thread where we can say anything? I often have things percolating, but I feel like I shouldn't start a thread or derail another one.

Well here's one thing I thought about posting. The FDA finally banned electric skin shock devices used at the Judge Rotenberg School:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal officials on Wednesday banned electrical shock devices used to discourage aggressive, self-harming behavior in patients with mental disabilities.

Honestly, I couldn't even read the article because I can't read about that school again. I once saw a video that was played in a court deposition of a boy who had been shocked hundreds of times over several hours. I can't even read about it now because it turns my stomach too much.

The irony is that the founder of that school started this practice because he was so against psychiatric medication. But the CCHR is taking a victory lap for helping to shut down the practice. Well, whoever helped to finally stop it should be congratulated.

You can't accuse me of derailing this thread. Well, you can. But would it make much sense? Nevermind.

Now, if only I could remember all the other things that were percolating that I never posted . . . lost to the ether.
