I never took anatomy in university. Are there anatomy questions on the DAT? If so approximately how many have you seen?

The needed anatomy is covered in most general biology courses and books such as Campbell Biology book do a fine job on it.

Good luck in your studies!

I didn't take anatomy during undergrad and yet I scored a 28 on the biology section! Hope that helps....check out my breakdown!

You do not need to take Anatomy in order to do well on DAT or be accepted to dental school. I would, however, highly recommend that you take it to save yourself some high levels of stress once you get into dental school.

Yes. There are some. Cliffs, Destroyer and Feralis notes have all you need.

You don't need to take anatomy, there are some very basic anatomy questions, but they won't ask what innervates what muscles or the names of the muscles and attachments. You can get all the info you need from the resources people use here.

Also, you could take it just to make dental school easier the first semester, but I don't think it's worth it unless you have a genuine interest in it. I went in totally blind along with pretty much all of my classmates and we made it out fine. I wouldn't recommend taking it in undergrad because it's traditionally a difficult class with a lot of weight and can be detrimental to your GPA, unless you ace it of course. I'd spend the time enjoying undergrad, volunteering, picking up an instrument, etc.

I took Anatomy prior to taking DAT, and honestly, I don't think it helped me at all! I agree with Nancy that Cambell's Bio covers everything you need! Supplement that with Cliff's and Destroyer, and you'll be good to go!

Thanks Swindoll, I always suggest Campbells Bio because it's a reliable and credible resource.
