Hey everyone! I am in the enrollment process with a 4 year college for Psychology. I'd just like to know what I need to do to work towards being a school counselor or maybe social worker. Will a BS work for this or do I have to have a Masters in order to do this? Any advice, tips, are greatly appreciated!!!

Hey how are you? they are going to yell at you for not searching the forum but in the mean time, you need to consider going for a BA instead of a BS maybe in either psychology, sociology or social work in any of those cases you'll need your MA or MSW in either clinical, counseling, or school psychology or MSW if you choose that route.

It sounds like you will need a masters degree to accomplish your goals. As for getting an MSW, you can major in any field that interests you as long as you do reasonably well, have good extracurriculars and can articulate well why you want to pursue a career in social work. Entry is not competitive even for the "top" schools. Good luck.
