When is the new edition of Barash coming out? I have heard rumors of sometime in 2009 but nothing definite.

Seems like they print another ed. every 4-5 years. The most recent is 2006, so this year seems too soon.
Not sure exactly when its coming out, but when I interviewed with him in November he seemed to be working hard on revisions/getting chapters to editors. I have no idea how long this process takes, but I would think sometime within the next 12 months is a reasonable estimate.

That may be the least subtle name-dropping I've heard in some time.
Bertel....I really didn't mean it to be such and am sorry if it sounded to be so, I really just wanted to indicate that the editing process was in full swing 2 months ago and that's how I knew (as I have no other connection or reason to know other than the situation). Truly didn't mean it to sound like anything other.

If he is in the process of editing, it will be more than a year. The publishers will have to edit, design, layout, publish and distribute. Mid 2010 at the earliest, I bet.

He's dropping a new edition this spring.
He promised more studies with variations of halothane, rat myocardium, mollusks and neural membrane potential.
