I ran across this, and just thought it'd be interesting to get some responses to waht are obiviously people miseducated about medicine, and ignorant in general.

I read that book (complications - by gawande) its very good. its quick reading, very well written and insightful. also as someone without any exposure to surgery, it certainly allowed me to see that attraction of it.

I second that opinion -- I just finished the book.

Another must read for all-aspiring pre-meds.

Hey,

I'm definitely going to go to the library and pick up "complications"...

another book to read though (especially for female pre-meds) is Sayantani DasGupta's "Her Own Medicine"- this book is amazing! tracks her entire medical career at JHU...wonderfully written and brutally honest!

Happy Reading!
