Not sure about the last version, but the latest has all the end-of-chapter questions as clinical vignettes. Also, all the key points are emphasised with little pictures of keys, lots of tables, etc. It probably depends if you like outline and bullet-point type formats.
I had a 1994 version, and the new one is vastly better than that.
I pretty much memorized the last edition and just finished going through the newest one ( i am a third year using it to review medicine) and i found it is about 98 percent the same as the last edition except for the clin vignettes at the back of the neweest one are better but most people dont use brs for questions anyway so i would say its not worth it
