PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 14, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ForeverX co-founders Dr. Shivani Shah and Sagar Shah are proud to announce the launch date of the first, exclusive healthcare dating app and social connection platform, slated for Oct. 17, 2021. ForeverX was inspired by Dr. Shah's experiences as a pediatric neurology resident relocating to a new state and leaving behind her childhood roots and social network. The sibling co-founders both formed a vision and started development of ForeverX at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
What differentiates ForeverX is not only its exclusivity but also its features, some of which the co-founders hope will help redefine the industry. Every user of ForeverX is verified as a healthcare professional at the onboarding stage using a proprietary security protocol involving NPI (National Provider Identification) number verifications along with Driver's License checks. When users match with another user, they also will find the option to "Schedule-a-Date," using an interactive, industry-first tool which allows matched users to see each other's availability in real-time. Doesn't everyone down to CNAs and home health aides get an NPI number...

I don't know who gets an NPI, but you can verify who's who with an NPI. No one else has my NPI for instance. So if I try to register as Goro with my NPI, they'll see that I'm Mass Effect, not Goro.

But is the dating scene really ripe with people pretending to be doctors? I mean we have some of the more public profiles that you good Google your date’s name and figure out where they work, where they went to school, their college thesis. It just seems an unnecessary step.

I mean, who cares? It's just an extra layer of verification. NPI is not top secret information.

I don't know about CNA's, but many people in healthcare have NPI's. I have one as a pharmacist, even though I never use it. Although according to the article, the app isn't intended to be just for doctors, but for anyone in the healthcare field. Seems to me it would be a safer way of dating, knowing somebody is at least licensed and has an NPI, then hooking up with a random person on Tinder.

That's true, many people in healthcare do have NPIs!

Not CNA's and "home health aides" (typically that means a CNA or equivalent, it's more of a job title than a certification level...), though, which is what I was referring to.

NPI's are for providers, and while that can mean case management/social work sometimes, it's typically PT/OT/ST MD/DO/OD/DPM/PharmD/PA-C/NP/DNP etc. who is billing CMS or has responsibilities unique to their licensure level that CMS tracks.

A CNA is not a "healthcare provider." Historically that title was reserved for Physicians, but as time has gone on the lines are continually getting blurred.

I am an RN and an MS4 and I do not have an NPI.

Anyway, the concept of using an app that vets people using a licensure isn't a terrible one, since most of these licensures require rigorous background checks. However, that doesn't weed out all the douchebags who happen to be doctors or PAs or whatever. 🤣 There are already apps for dating people with specific careers or income levels, but each of those concepts has its own problems.

There's already a FarmersOnly, but I guess we could make a PharmersOnly to match up Rph/PharmDs....

I think the reason of why this wont work in most places is the number of single medical professionals that use it wont be a big number, and people probably will have to look for matches a good distance away, making it difficult. It is a very narrow dating pool that they're targeting, I think a better idea would have been an app designed for people who have done grad/med/law/etc school in general, like a "professionals only" dating app.

I don’t really know about this. Not my style. If I were still unmarried or single if I get to attend medical school & be a doctor, I think I’d rather meet someone in-person like I have done for all of my romantic relationships. To each his own, though!

Interesting concept. I would never use a dating app, but I see the reasoning behind it. Easier to date a medical doctor if you are one, etc, is that the idea?

You can if you want to.

I had a program require one to apply for an away in VSAS (yes, really), so I registered at the end of MS3 and got one. The program rejected me for the away but at least I sorted out my NPI number. I don't know where the line is, but you can definitely get one as a med student.

Yea, it's exclusivity. Though I will say that as a doctor I'm still not drowning in matches on other dating apps so here's no reason to expect I will on this one.

Wait, isn't "Down To Date" (pun of UptoDate) the first dating site to use NPI numbers?
